A Few Words About Us

 Wendy Betten, the owner of the Hot Metal Diner, has been in the restaurant business for 34 years.  After years as a waitress, she became determined to own her own diner, and she accomplished that in 2002 by buying and running Bob’s Diner for 5 years.  In 2007, Wendy decided to open the Hot Metal Diner – a brand new diner.  Instead of being able to start with an existing and operating diner, the Hot Metal Diner had to be built out from scratch.  In September, 2007, the Hot Metal Diner opened and has been operating ever since.  In 2009, Wendy obtained some additional space next to the diner, and now has expanded seating areas and space for meetings, private events, etc.

Wendy could not have reached this point without the help and support of her husband Gary, who oversaw the construction, did a lot of work himself, and has been in charge of ordering since the opening of the Hot Metal Diner.
